Québec City, June 1, 2016 – The St. Lawrence Economic Development Council (SODES) is proud to have won the Prix Coup de cœur du jury d’honneur for its promotional campaign Brought to you by ship – My river, my provider! at the Association québécoise des transports (AQTr) Gala des Grands prix d’excellence en transport, held yesterday evening.Livré par navire - ANG -

The marine industry’s promotional campaign, a three-year venture launched in October 2014, is designed to make Quebeckers aware of the important role the marine industry plays in our daily lives. The Brought to you by ship – My river, my provider! campaign reminds us that 90% of the products people use world-wide are carried by ships. Bicycles, cell phones, bottles of wine…most of the products around us are delivered via maritime transport.

“I am honoured that our marine industry promotional campaign has won an AQTr Grand prix d’excellence en transport. This distinction recognizes the efforts my team and I have made in recent years and confirms the approach we have chosen”, said SODES President Nicole Trépanier.

AQTr Coup de cœur du jury d’honneur
For some 20 years now, the AQTr has been presenting awards to recognize and reward excellence in transport-related projects in order to support outstanding initiatives and encourage the industry to draw inspiration from them. The Prix Coup de cœur du jury d’honneur recognizes a unique, innovative project, from any category, that impresses the honorary jury.

The St. Lawrence Economic Development Council (SODES) plays a key role in economic activity related to the St. Lawrence River. It is the voice of the maritime community, whose interests and projects it champions in all forums and vis-à-vis authorities at all levels when the River’s economic future is at stake. Enjoying solid, broad-based membership, SODES promotes the development of the St. Lawrence in keeping with sustainable development principles.
